Hi, I'm Vicki 

 

I come from 5 generations of doctors. 5. 

Working in healthcare is in my blood. 

It seemed to go without saying that I would follow in their footsteps and become a doctor. I have vivid memories of running around the hospital when my Mom rounded on the weekends (different times back then...). 

But the sad truth was that I wasn't very good at organic chemistry and I didnt really want to become a doctor. 

One day, while working at physician group in college, I had an incredible experience that shaped my career. I got to help a 6 year old get his T&A by getting his pre-authorization done just in time. I saw the look of relief on his dad's face when he realized that, despite his fears, we wouldn't be able to do his surgery because the paperwork hadn't gone through. 

And that was that. 

I realized right then and there how much impact administrative leaders had over the access, quality, and satisfaction of care. 

20 years later... 

 

After nearly 20 years of working in healthcare administration (operations, revenue cycle, project management, system implementation, practice acquisition, and finance) I shifted by career to coaching.

Meet Sarah 

Sarah let go of imposter syndrome using DiSC 

 

Sarah came to me frustrated. She knew that she was smart and capable and yet, anytime she walked into a room with physician leaders and senior leaders of her academic medical center, she could never get point across. It's like everything she was saying was falling and deaf ears. This caused stress, worry, and a fear that maybe she really wasnt good enough. It also caused her to work all the time because she thought she could outwork the problem

When she took the DiSC and had her 90-min debrief, Sarah learned that her leadership and communication style was collaborate and enthusiastic. Her physician leaders however, were more direct and data driven. It's like they were speaking a different language and creating misunderstanding, frustration, and doubt.
